The Epoch/US Lacrosse Players of the Week are named each Tuesday to recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school boys’  and girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage. Make it Epoch

Northeast

Will Ramos, Nyack (N.Y.)

The senior goalie broke the Section I career record in saves last week. He now has 1,116 career saves with a 63 percent save rate. He is committed to Albany. He recorded his 1,000th career save a month earlier.

Mid-Atlantic

Tom Schelling, Delbarton (N.J.)

The junior attackman provided the scoring punch the Green Wave needed to bolster their already impressive résumé last week. Schelling posted four goals and an assist Saturday in a 10-6 victory over then-No. 12 Chaminade (N.Y.). The Lehigh recruit also had two goals and two assists last Tuesday in a 10-8 win over Chatham (N.J.) that clinched a fifth straight Morris County Tournament title. Add in two goals in a Thursday rout of West Essex (N.J.), and he’s got a team-best 42 points through 15 games.

South

Luke Millican, Dallas Jesuit (Texas)

The senior goalie had 11 saves in the THSLL state championship game and 15 in the semifinals to help his team to its second consecutive state championship and earn. Millican’s performance steadied Jesuit in the second half of the title game against Episcopal School of Dallas. ESD scored the first five goals of the game, but Millican limited the Eagles to three second-half goals, while the Jesuit offense caught fire and scored eight times to take the win. In the semifinals against Highland Park, Millican, the tournament MVP, tied his career-high with the 15 saves. He gave up just one second-half goal in the 8-4 win.

Midwest

AJ Rigsby, Bishop Watterson (Ohio)

Rigsby has been a big reason for Watterson’s success this year and had another big week. He scored seven goals against Pickerington North (Ohio) before notching a hat trick on Thursday against St. Charles (Ohio). The Franklin & Marshall College commit has scored at least five goals in seven of Watterson’s last nine games.

West

Ryder Mora, Loyola-Los Angeles (Calif.)

The senior midfielder led Loyola to its second straight Southern Section CIF title, scoring five goals in a 13-5 win over Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.) in the championship Saturday. Mora, the son of UCLA football coach Jim Mora, scored his fifth goal to make it 10-2 and put the game out of reach. He is signed to play at Maryland next year.
