England National Team Director Phil Collier announced the final 18-player squad to compete at the 2017 FIL Rathbones Women’s Lacrosse World Cup. This group of players will compete at Surrey Sports Park this July in the first home Lacrosse World Cup since 2001.

England reduced their 44 player squad to 26 in January 2017 before a three-game tour to America and an international test against Japan. The 18-player squad are able to continue their preparations for the Rathbones World Cup at the Rathbones Home Internationals April 7-9 hosted by Wales in Cardiff.

The Rathbones World Cup is less than four months away, England will take on Wales in the first fixture of the event directly after the opening ceremony on July 12.

The roster includes three current or former Maryland players: Megan Whittle, Camilla Hayes (2013) and Laura Merrifield (2011). Merrifield represented England at the 2009 and 2013 FIL Wolrd Cups and was selected to the 2013 FIL All-World Team.

It also features Olivia Hompe, the Princeton attacker that recently tallied her 200th point with the Tigers.
