There was no change at the top of this week’s Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Women’s Top 20, with only some minor shuffling in a few spots as the ranked teams posted a cumulative 13-0 record.

No.1 Lindenwood and No. 2 Indianapolis both improved to 4-0 with dominating victories. No. 3 Le Moyne, No. 4 Adelphi and No. 5 West Chester all play their first games this week.

A 2-0 week for East Stroudsburg helped the Warriors jump over Rollins and up one spot to No. 6. The only other change came at the backend of the poll with Mercyhurst sliding in at No. 20 on the strength of a 3-0 start.

The week ahead will be the busiest of the season to date, with all the PSAC, SSC and NE-10 teams taking to the field and a number of top-20 matchups highlighting the schedule.

HOT

East Stroudsburg (+1)

ESU kicked off its season with impressive victories over Frostburg State and Bloomsburg last week, seizing control of both games early. The Warriors featured 10 different goal scorers in the 20-3 win over FSU, while Hana Cicerelle and Baily McMaster led the way in the 14-5 win against Bloomsburg with a combined seven goals. With 10 starters back in 2021, ESU was picked to finish second in the PSAC East coaches’ poll.

NOT

Rollins (-1)

The Tars haven’t played a game yet but slipped one spot in this week’s poll due to ESU’s strong start. Tabbed to finish third in the Sunshine State Conference preseason coaches’ poll, Rollins opens play on March 24 with a top-10 matchup against No. 10 Tampa.

IN

Mercyhurst (No. 20)

A unique season brings about unique scheduling challenges, so Mercyhurst settled on a unique solution. The Lakers played a rare lacrosse doubleheader, hosting both Walsh Univ and D’Youville College on Sunday in their only non-conference games of the season. Mercyhurst won both contents, 17-10 and 18-7, to improve to 3-0 and move into this week’s Top 20. Their remaining 11 games will all be played against PSAC West opponents.

OUT

Concordia-St. Paul (was No. 20)

After starting 1-1 on the year, the Golden Bears have not played in three weeks and got bumped from the poll by Mercyhurst. C-SP returns to action this week with back-to-back games against Ashland, the first of six straight GLIAC contests over the next three weeks.
