1. The Premier Lacrosse League Playoffs begin this weekend and the league has announced the finalists for its 14 season-ending awards, including Connor Fields, Matt Rambo and Tom Schrieber for the Jim Brown Most Valuable Player.

2. US Lacrosse has named 88 players to its inaugural USA Select teams for boys’ and girls’ at the U15 and U17 age groups. The teams will compete during the Fall Classic in October.

3. Diane Geppi-Aikens, Jane Miller and Robin Sheppard have been selected for induction into the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
4. Dom Starsia’s Letter to a Freshman, originally written in 2017, has been updated and shared again.

• A report in the Yale Daily News says that six senior women’s lacrosse players have left the program.
• A look at Leah Holmes experience helping the U.S. women’s U19 team bring home a gold medal.
• Judy Baxter and Beth Patterson built a powerhouse girls’ lacrosse program at Eden Prairie (Minn.) High School and played major roles in developing the sport throughout the state. Twenty years after starting the program, they’re stepping away.
• Adrienne Carr, the head women’s lacrosse coach at Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham for the last 15 seasons, announced she is stepping down.
• Zach Wilfong has been named as the head coach for men’s lacrosse at LaRoche.
• Kacie Lewis has been hired as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Bryant.
