2. A major shift could be coming to collegiate athletics as the NCAA’s top governing board voted unanimously to permit students participating in athletics the opportunity to benefit from the use of their name, image and likeness.

3. Our annual Best of Lax voting opened today with a look at the top men’s players from 2019: Grant Ament, Matt Rambo, Pat Spencer and Lyle Thompson. Who gets your vote?

4. Longtime college head coach Tracy Coyne, most notably at Notre Dame, will be the new head coach at St. Francis (Pa.) University. Coyne, the 2006 IWLCA National Coach of the Year, has 287 career victories.

5. It’s not often that you hear someone willing to prepare sushi to help attract people to a coaches talk, but that was some of the fun Matt Bocklet generated when he shared his anxiousness at speaking before Team USA and Duke head coach John Danowksi at the US Lacrosse West Regional Conference next month.

• The Austin Youth Lacrosse Club has embraced the Lacrosse Athlete Development Model and has nearly doubled its number of participants.

• Great read from Inside Lacrosse’s Terry Foy on Bobby Van Buren, the publication’s No. 12 rated player from the Class of 2021. Van Buren is homeschooled in North Carolina, so he doesn’t play high school lacrosse, but recently committed to Ohio State.

• Lock Haven head coach Lindsay Reese is the 2019 winner of the Kristina Quigley Scholarship, which will help offset the cost of Reese’s family joining her for the IWLCA Convention in Florida next month.

• Boston Cannons midfielder Kyle Denhoff has been inducted into the St. John Fisher College Athletic Hall of Fame.
