Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Twitter was abuzz last night after a devastating loss for the U.S. men’s soccer team that ended its hopes to play in the World Cup. Lacrosse fans don’t have to worry about that, John Danowski’s squad is headed to Israel next summer and Matt DaSilva checks in with what we learned about Team USA, Maryland and Towson following the Team USA Fall Classic.
2. Another U.S. team is getting close to hitting the floor. Regy Thorpe will make his debut as coach of the U.S. men’s indoor team on Oct. 21 when Team USA takes on Canada in the Heritage Cup in Hamilton, Ontario. Tyson Geick previews the game:
3. Maryland head coach John Tillman has been named as a featured speaker at the US Lacrosse Convention. The convention runs from Jan. 19-21, 2018 at the Baltimore Convention Center.
4. Lax Sports Network continued its reveal of the Top 25 players in Major League Lacrosse, as voted on by the players. Added to the list last night were Florida’s Kieran McArdle (No. 11), Chesapeake’s Lyle Thompson (No. 12), Denver’s Eric Law (No. 13), Rochester’s Joel White (No. 14) and Chesapeake's Myles Jones (No. 15).
