Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Ohio Machine coach Bear Davis, fresh off winning the franchise’s first MLL championship, has signed a multi-year extension with the team.

Davis has served as coach of the Machine since 2013, when he inherited a team that had won just three games over the two previous seasons. Now, he’s led Ohio to two consecutive MLL title games.

“Without question, Coach Davis has done an incredible job in leading the Machine,” team president Ryan Chenault said. “Bear’s tremendous coaching ability has turned the Machine into one of the most consistently high performing teams in Major League Lacrosse. I could not be happier that we have signed Coach Davis to a contract extension and am excited to support his efforts as we look to win multiple championships.”

2. Myles Jones has always been one of the biggest players on the field. Since he was a kid, he stuck out on the lacrosse field.

But it wasn’t until he got to college at Duke that he realized his passion for the weight room.

“When I got to college, it was kind of a shock for me,” he said. “There was a lot of terminology I had no idea about. I had no idea what a power clean was. I had no idea what a clean was. All I knew was the bench press, squat, curl and the dead lift. There were a lot of things that I had to learn when I got to college, but then it became fun, because it was something new to me.”

Still one of the most physically imposing players in the MLL — and now with the U.S. training team — Jones walks us through a few of his top workouts.

5. The NXT Harvest Classic wrapped up last weekend in West Chester, Pa., with a number of teams going undefeated in the US Lacrosse Nationals qualifying event. The unbeaten teams got the maximum qualifying points to take steps on the Road to Delaware.

Freedom 2022 Red (Pa.) went undefeated in the 14U division. At 13U, three teams finished unbeaten: Brotherly Love 2023 Zeus (Pa.), Freedom 2023 Red (Pa.), and NXT 2023 Black (Pa.). Uprising 2024 (Pa.) earned maximum points in the 12U division.

Not a video, but definitely worth noting the special guest at the USC women's workout on Tuesday. Movie star Zac Efron stopped by to get some work in with the Trojans.
