Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Halloween hit the lacrosse world. US Lacrosse celebrated a few days early, hosting the Lax Spooktacular 4v4 playday for boys and girls on Saturday. Yesterday, college teams practiced and lifted in their best costumes. Here’s a snapshot of the day’s festivities.

2. Duke senior attacker Justin Guterding likes buffalo chicken pizza, country music and puppies. Get to know the All-American in US Lacrosse Magazine’s Give & Go interview.

3. The road to US Lacrosse Nationals has begun. The Rockford Fall Classic in Illinois and Southern Tilt in Georgia held qualifying tournaments where youth boys’ teams could earn performance-based points toward a berth to Nationals, set for Aug. 2-5, 2018, in Frederica, Del.

  • Players from the 1968 Arizona men’s lacrosse team visits Tucson during homecoming weekend and reflected on the sport’s beginning on campus.

  • Inside Lacrosse takes a look at 2018 prospects for Florida women and Navy men.  

  • A lacrosse tournament in Armonk, N.Y. – the “No Man Down Lacrosse Classic" hosted by Byram Hills – will help veterans get homes.

  • According to the American Journal of Sports Medicine, a wearable sensor is a tool to identify head impacts, but it may overestimate the number of impacts an athlete experiences.

What We’re Watching

The England Under-17 Boys’ Academy visited US Lacrosse for a training session on Tierney Field during its trip to Baltimore in preparation for the 2010 FIL U19 World Championship in Limerick, Ireland. The U.S. trip concluded with a matchup against South River High, a 22-15 win for the English.
