Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Yale’s senior class made more headlines Tuesday.

TD Ierlan, the most prolific faceoff specialist in NCAA history and the No. 1 overall pick in the Major League Lacrosse draft, reportedly will return to Yale in 2021 despite the fact that most of his classmates are unable to do the same.

While the university determined that it would not accommodate extra eligibility for seniors who withdrew and reenrolled for that purpose, Ierlan, who transferred to Yale from Albany last year, never intended to graduate in 2020. He reportedly needs more credits to complete his political science degree. According to Inside Lacrosse, Ierlan is exempt from Yale’s so-called “eight-semester rule,” since he has only been on campus for four semesters. 

One of the spurned seniors, meanwhile, made his destination known. Jackson Morrill, an All-American attackman and the No. 2 all-time scorer at Yale, will reportedly transfer to Denver for his fifth year.

The move may come as a surprise to those who speculated Morrill would transfer to Johns Hopkins, where his family lineage includes three generations of National Lacrosse Hall of Famers. Instead, he teams up now with Ethan Walker to form one of the best 1-2 punches in college lacrosse, which will be at the disposal of one of the sport's most respected offensive minds in Denver assistant Matt Brown.

2. The lacrosse community’s generosity was on full display for Giving Tuesday Now, a global day of giving organized in response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

Nearly 180 people contributed to US Lacrosse’s appeal, with donations exceeding $48,000. All donations will be tripled with matching funds from three generous donors.

“You are the lifeblood of our organization,” US Lacrosse CEO Steve Stenersen wrote in a column outlining the nonprofit’s financial challenges, “and this is the moment we need you most.”

3. Tom Schreiber was this week’s guest on “Overtime” with Paul Carcaterra, the US Lacrosse Magazine-produced podcast. Schreiber talked about his remarkable run in the sport, following in his father’s Hall of Fame footsteps, the Princeton days and his shining moment in the 2018 world championship.

4. The 2020 World Lacrosse U19 Men’s World Championship is now the 2021 World Lacrosse U20 Men’s World Championship. The games will be played July 17-26, 2021, in Limerick, Ireland.
