Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Pat Spencer hopes to continue his athletic career on the hardwood. The 2019 Tewaaraton winner joined Paul Carcaterra on our latest “Overtime” podcast.

2. Sean Sconone dominated in his rookie season in Major League Lacrosse. The former UMass goalie is a big reason the Connecticut Hammerheads are optimistic about their hopes for 2020.

3. CityLax has scheduled an event in September to give a number of senior college lacrosse players one more chance to play.

4. Sad news from Canada and a sign of these unusual times as the Mann Cup will not be held this summer. Both Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) in Ontario and the Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) in British Columbia have canceled their seasons.

5. UMBC has retired the uniform number, 51, of star defenseman George McGeeney. The National Lacrosse Hall of Famer died earlier this year, shortly after joining the staff of US Lacrosse as Chief Operating Officer.

6. Dwayne Hicks has been named as the new head women’s lacrosse coach at Detroit Mercy.
