Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Pat Spencer will play college basketball next season. The news was first reported by Watch Stadium’s Jeff Goodman on May 10, but Spencer confirmed it on Lax Sports Network Tuesday evening.

Spencer has been long rumored to be making the move to basketball for next season, but he’s focused on his college lacrosse career, which continues as Loyola battles Penn State this weekend in the NCAA quarterfinals.

2. Scott Ratliff is the pride of Atlanta. He found the game of lacrosse there — his father, who played at Maryland, helped him join a league as a child.

Years later, he led a historic rope unit en route to Loyola’s first national championship in 2012. Now, he’s a professional lacrosse player looking to give back to the game he loves.

Ratliff is the guest for Season 2 Episode 4 of Overtime with Paul Carcaterra.

3. Stony Brook announced that coach Jim Nagle will not return next season. Nagle led the Seawolves to a 9-6 record this season and an America East regular season title, but they were upset by UMBC in the conference semifinals.

Nagle guided Stony Brook to an NCAA tournament berth in 2012.

4. The Tufts defense is quickly becoming its anchor as the Jumbos head into an NCAA quarterfinal matchup with Amherst. With two key players questionable for today’s game, Tufts will have to rely even more on its back end.

Also in Division III men’s lacrosse, Brandon Childs credits his strong senior class for York’s run to the NCAA quarterfinals and Denison is preparing for another NCAA battle with Salisbury and historic coach Jim Berkman.

5. Calvert Hall boys’ lacrosse, No. 1 in the Nike/US Lacosse HS Boys' National Top 25, is one win away from becoming the first team to win the MIAA A Conference in three straight seasons. The Cardinals dominated rival Loyola 18-4 behind six points from Daniel Kelly.
