Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. May Madness is here.

The NCAA Division III men’s lacrosse tournament kicked off Tuesday with the first round of games. John Carroll and Misericordia emerged victorious for their first-ever NCAA wins.

John Carroll topped Albion 14-9 in just their second NCAA tournament appearance thanks to a team-best seven goals from Declan O’Grady.

Led by Chris Fleming’s two goals and two assists, Misericordia defeated Lasell 9-7.

"We're on the map now,” said Misericordia coach Jim Ricardo. “We play hard for four quarters, we don't give up and we believe in each other. … It was a great opening round of the NCAA tournament. We're privileged to be here and we're excited for round two."

2. In this week’s Nike/US Lacrosse college rankings, Maryland, Limestone and Salisbury ascend to No. 1 in Division I, II and III men’s lacrosse, respectively, while Maryland, Adelphi and William Smith sit at the top of their respective women’s lacrosse divisions.

In Division I, the biggest movers were Army and Ohio State on the men’s side and James Madison, Northwestern and Princeton on the women’s side.
