Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Brown (#9) and Yale (#7) entered this year in the national Top 10, but things aren't working out as planned for the Ivy League powers. Both teams suffered their third consecutive losses on Tuesday night with Brown falling to Villanova 17-15 and Yale dropping an 11-9 decision to Massachusetts. Brown has given up 55 goals in its three losses while Yale's three losses have come by just a combined six goals. In other men's action on Tuesday:

• No. 3 Penn State got a goal and four assists from Nick Aponte to hold off Furman 12-10 and improve to 6-0 for the season. Here's a piece on Mac O'Keefe's training that has paid big dividends for the Nittany Lions.

• No. 10 Penn, which lost by a goal to Penn State on Saturday, bounced back by scoring the final three goals of the game to beat Navy 11-9. U.S. U19 team member Simon Mathias had three goals, including the go-ahead goal in the fourth quarter.

• No. 16 Princeton followed up its upset of Johns Hopkins with a high-scoring 17-13 win over Quinnipiac. Austin Sims, the Epoch / US Lacrosse Player of the Week, had six goals and an assist for the second straight game while his U.S. U19 teammate Michael Sowers had two goals and four assists.

2. The longest winning streak in women's lacrosse this season? 8 - by Notre Dame following a 16-13 win over Ohio State on Tuesday night. Since dropping its season opener to Northwestern 14-13, the Irish have won eight straight times. Tuesday's win was the fifth time that the No. 11 Irish had scored at least 16 goals during the winning streak. Up next is a Saturday tilt at No. 8 Princeton.

3. The latest Nike/US Lacrosse national and regional rankings for high school boys and high school girls lacrosse are out.

4. Jenny Levy's 300 wins show one side of her success, but there's a lot more to her story. Matt White caught up with some of her former players and coaches to talk about her impact on their lives.

What We’re Reading

• Family has always been important to Lyle Thompson, and the ability to spend more time with his family is a big reason that Chesapeake was able to acquire the dynamic playmaker in a trade last week. Bayhawks head coach Brian Reese told Bill Wagner of the Annapolis Capital is a “once-in-a-generation talent.”

• Former college stars Colleen Magarity (Northwestern) and Joey Sankey (North Carolina) are coaching lacrosse at Penn Charter in Pennsylvania, but that’s not the only place they’re teaching. They recently traveled to Japan to help teach the sport.

• Seven summers of box lacrosse in Canada have helped Colin Munro get ready for his college career at North Carolina, But first the son of former Denver coach Jamie Munro, will try to win a state championship at Mountain Vista (Colo.) High School.

• Why do two current college men's lacrosse players wear uniform No. 7 in honor of a man they never met? Read about Bob Bianchi's powerful legacy in the latest US Lacrosse "Behind the Bricks" series.

  

  Former Navy player Bob Bianchi died in a helicopter crash in 1987, but his legacy is still carried on today.

What’s on Tap

• Penn State's men's team isn't the only undefeated team in Happy Valley. The Nittany Lions women's squad is 6-0 and No. 6 in the Nike/US Lacrosse rankings. They'll have a tough test with No. 13 James Madison visiting today.

• It's no longer an ACC game, but former Maryland star Acacia Walker brings her Boston College team to her alma mater to try and take down the No. 1 Terps. It's the start of a challenging week for Maryland, with No. 4 Syracuse coming to town Saturday.

• In women's Division II, No. 7 Queens and No. 15 Bentley will battle on Tierney Field at US Lacrosse.

• In men's Division III, a big battle in Central Pennsylvania with No. 12 York heading to No. 9 Gettysburg.
