Early recruiting is one of the most biggest issues facing the sport. An NCAA vote coming up in April could help bring change to the process.

5. Tragedy has struck the University of Louisville and the Kentucky lacrosse community, as Savannah Walker, president of the university’s club women’s team and a high school official in the area, was killed in a March 19 shooting at a concert. A Facebook page has been set up to remember Savannah Walker, and the Louisville varsity team honored her legacy at yesterday’s game vs. Duquesne. Services are Friday

What We’re Reading

  • Injury rates among NCAA men’s lacrosse players appear to be on a downward trajectory. That was one of the primary conclusions put forth in a new research study recently published in Injury Epidemiology that tracked injuries by collegiate varsity men’s lacrosse players over a span of six years, from 2009-2015.

  • Drexel continues to celebrate the 75th anniversary of its men’s lacrosse program, naming Tuesday its all-decade team from the 1980s. The all-decade teams will continue and culminate with a 75th anniversary team to be announced during the Dragons’ home finale April 22 vs. Delaware. Drexel players will don throwback uniforms for that game. Can’t wait to see those.

  • Some noon-time hoops for the UMass women’s team? Don’t mind if they do.
