Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Two unbeaten NCAA Division I teams passed tests Tuesday. The No. 5 Hofstra men got four goals from freshman Ryan Tierney to beat Long Island rival Stony Brook at home, 11-9, to continue its best start since 1973. On the women's side, No. 6 Penn State went on the road to fellow unbeaten No. 5 Princeton and came away with an impressive 13-8 win. Katie O'Donnell recorded a hat trick for the third consecutive game and sixth game this season as the Nittany Lions improved to 9-1.

Villanova's men's lacrosse team followed up its upset victory over Maryland with a solid 13-8 win over Bucknell behind five goals from Jack Curran. The Wildcats have won three straight.

Reigning Tewaaraton Award winner Dylan Molloy had a 10-point night (7g, 3a) as Brown edged Holy Cross 17-14.

In Division III men, No. 3 Tufts got five goals from Zach Richmand and three goals and four assists from John Cordrey to beat No. 7 Stevenson, 16-13.

In Division III women, No. 14 Salisbury outscored No. 16 Colby 5-0 in the second half to rally for a 6-5 win in a game played on Tierney Field at US Lacrosse headquarters.

Dana King had a pair of second-half goals, including the game-winner with 4:38 remaining, to help Salisbury rally from a four-goal halftime deficit and beat Colby 6-5 on Tierney Field at US Lacrosse headquarters on Tuesday afternoon.
2. This week's Nike/US Lacrosse High School rankings are out, with McDonogh (Md.) atop both the boys' and girls' national top 25. The Eagles handled No. 10 Haverford (Pa.) in a boys' showdown Tuesday, 17-9. In another Mason-Dixon Lone matchup, No. 17 Malvern Prep (Pa.) won at No. 13 Calvert Hall, 13-7. 4. The NCAA has an important vote coming up, one that could represent a tangible step toward limits on high school recruiting. Related, an editorial from US Lacrosse CEO Steve Stenersen.
Early recruiting is one of the most biggest issues facing the sport. An NCAA vote coming up in April could help bring change to the process.
5. Tragedy has struck the University of Louisville and the Kentucky lacrosse community, as Savannah Walker, president of the university’s club women’s team and a high school official in the area, was killed in a March 19 shooting at a concert. The Courier-Journal has more in the form of a news story and an interview with Walker’s father, Dean, a girls’ lacrosse coach at duPont Manual High School. A Facebook page has been set up to remember Savannah Walker, and the Louisville varsity team honored her legacy at yesterday’s game vs. Duquesne. Services are Friday
