Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The Tewaaraton Award watch lists are out.

The Tewaaraton Foundation announced the lists Tuesday night at its annual fundraiser in New York.

Candidates include former finalists Connor Cannizzaro (Denver), Ben Reeves (Yale) and 2016 men’s winner Dylan Molloy (Brown).

On the women’s side, reigning Division I champion North Carolina has six nominees (Maggie Bill, Molly Hendrick, Marie McCool, Carly Reed, Sammy Jo Tracy and Caylee Waters), while the new NCAA single-season goals record holder Courtney Murphy (Stony Brook) also made the list.

2. Three Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Top 20 teams avoided Tuesday’s trap games.

In men’s lacrosse, No. 14 Rutgers cruised past Wagner 12-5 and No. 20 Boston University downed Bryant 12-9. No. 20 Stanford, the lone ranked women’s team in action Tuesday, used a strong second half to defeat Michigan 15-10.

3. The first in-season update of the Nike/US Lacrosse high school rankings came out Tuesday. The South Boys’ Top 10 has a new No. 1 in St. Thomas Aquinas and Vero Beach jumped to No. 3 in the South Girls’ Top 10.

4. Division I official Lellie Swords discussed her journey from playing at James Madison and coaching at Cornell, Johns Hopkins and Cincinnati to earning her “National” rating as an official in May 2015. The Dallas area resident officiated her first “home game” at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas, when Duke defeated Stanford 12-8. “Getting on the path to college officiating was its own animal,” she said.

• Maryland’s transition game was key in its win over Yale on Saturday, but it was the Terps’ defensive players getting involved on offense that caught fans’ eyes.

• Freshman Emily Hawryschuk is making an immediate impact for Syracuse, pacing the Orange with 11 goals.

• The Chesapeake Bayhawks acquired Dan Groot from the Ohio Machine.

• The Buffalo Bandits acquired Pat Saunders from the New England Black Wolves.

• Salisbury defenseman Kyle Tucker, the Nike/US Lacrosse Preseason Player of the Year in Division III men’s lacrosse, continues to shut down his opponents, most recently Gettysburg’s Tommy Heller.

• Hobart transfer Casey Grieves provided a boost in Washington College’s upset win over Washington and Lee.

• Team Impact connected first-grader Parker Langenback, who is living with spina bifida, with the Williams College lacrosse team in a two-year commitment to learn about and support each other.

• NXT Sports will follow US Lacrosse event sanctioning guidelines and has begun reaching out to potential events where teams can qualify for the 2018 US Lacrosse Nationals.

• Rankings college teams is about picking a philosophy and sticking to it.

What We’re Watching

The Arrowhead Warriors 10U boys’ lacrosse team strapped a GoPro to their helmets to capture the youth lacrosse experience, from the pregame “Effort!” cheer to the postgame huddle, where one coach said, “I had fun watching you all. That was cool.”
