Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
The lacrosse community went silent Tuesday.
“Blackout Tuesday,” a social media protest that started in the music industry, called for disruption and self-reflection in the wake of the George Floyd homicide. More than 22 million Instagram users posted black squares with the hashtag #BlackoutTuesday in symbolic support of the live protests against racial discrimination and social injustice happening in cities across the country. Similar images flooded Twitter, drowning out the normal din of notifications and timeline updates.
Those that were active on social media continued to share their reflections related to race in America and particularly within our predominantly white sport. Among them were High Point junior Asher Nolting, Canisius commit Isaiah Ricketts and social media influencer Mikey Diggs (Diggs Tape).
