Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The U.S. national team reported to training camp Monday night in Foxborough, Mass., and practiced Tuesday at Gillette Stadium. New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft was among the observers.

US Lacrosse and its national team partners have been revealing Team USA’s custom gear for the MLL All-Star Game, which will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. ET at Harvard Stadium in Cambridge, Mass.

Even though ESPN analyst Quint Kessenich tweeted Tuesday that the game would be broadcast live on ESPN2 — or ESPNews, if there’s a Game 3 in the College World Series finals — no formal announcement has come from ESPN or MLL.

2.  Team USA long-stick midfielder Kyle Hartzell has won multiple college and professional lacrosse championships, but a world title has eluded him. He’s willing to do anything to leave Israel next month with a gold medal around his neck.

3. John Nostrant, who built Haverford School (Pa.) into a perennial boys’ lacrosse power, will part ways with the program after his 28th season in 2019.

Nostrant’s 475 career wins rank 22nd all-time among high school coaches, according to LaxRecords.com. Also stepping down as the athletic director, he told the Delco Times he is not finished coaching. Nostrant is transitioning to a development role at the school. Haverford School will hire a coach-in-waiting who will work alongside Nostrant in his final season.

Several esteemed coaches have either retired or stepped down from their positions in recent seasons — including legends Mike Messere of West Genesee (N.Y.) and Rob Bordley of Landon (Md.), who just finished their final seasons. They rank No. 1 and No. 5 all-time with 844 and 655 wins, respectively. Chuck Reubling of Delbarton (N.J.) (No. 14 with 523 wins) and Bob Hartranft of Farmingdale (N.Y.) (No. 3 with 708 wins) retired in 2017 and 2016, respectively. Gene Tundo of Orchard Park (N.Y.) (No. 13 with 541 wins) and Bob Shriver of Boys’ Latin (Md.) (No. 16 with 507 wins) retired in 2015.

4. The Nike/US Lacrosse National Top 25s and Regional Top 10s for high school boys’ and girls’ lacrosse are in the books for 2018. The final updates were posted Tuesday with the conclusion of the season in Massachusetts.

5. Team USA midfielder Jake Bernhardt was among notable names on the move Tuesday in Major League Lacrosse trades.

The New York Lizards acquired Bernhardt from the Ohio Machine for attackman Ryan Walsh and a second-round pick in the 2019 collegiate draft.

The Chesapeake Bayhawks, meanwhile, traded rookie Shack Stanwick and a fourth-round pick in the 2019 collegiate draft to the Boston Cannons for Jeremy Sieverts, a six-time MLL All-Star midfielder previously with the Denver Outlaws. Sieverts was released by the Outlaws after playing in five games this season and was picked up by the Cannons out of the player pool.

6. Siena has tabbed another top Albany assistant to helm its men’s lacrosse program. Liam Gleason, who spent the past seven seasons as the associate head coach and defensive coordinator for the Great Danes, was announced as the Saints’ new head coach Tuesday. 

WHAT WE’RE READING

• Scoring five goals while reportedly playing with torn labrum to lead Reading Memorial (Mass.) to MIAA Division 2 state title, Mike Tobin is the Warrior/US Lacrosse High School Boys’ Player of the Week.

• The Norwell (Mass.) sister act delivered an MIAA Division 2 crown, with Maddie McDonough (five goals) earning Brine/US Lacrosse High School Girls’ Player of the Week honors.

• Syracuse’s Carrier Dome once again was the most popular destination for college men’s lacrosse fans in 2018, as the Orange led the NCAA in total and average attendance.

• Jake Withers has played in NCAA, Mann Cup and NLL finals in a whirlwind year. Now he’ll represent Canada in the FIL World Championship.

• Israeli national team player Jacob Silberlicht (Hobart) looks forward to showing the beauty of his new homeland to the rest of the lacrosse world, as expressed in a Jerusalem Post opinion piece.
