Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Mike Murphy resigned Tuesday as the head coach of the Colgate men’s lacrosse team after seven years at the helm. He recorded a 57-51 overall record in his tenure, most recently netting a 7-8 season in 2018, which featured an upset over Cornell. 

"We thank Mike for his hard work and service to our university and department," said Colgate Vice President and Director of Athletics Nicki Moore. "We wish him the very best moving forward.”

In other coaching news, Lehigh men’s lacrosse welcomed back Tom Compitello as an assistant Monday after most recently being on the Yale coaching staff.

2. Defender Ben Randall was traded to the Ohio Machine from the Charlotte Hounds in exchange for defender Matt McMahon. 

Randall was a 2018 Ohio State graduate, as well as an Ohio native, who earned first-team All Big-Ten honors. He was also the first player in program history to get back-to-back USILA first-team All-American honors. 

“Ben is an Ohio native and we’re really excited about what he brings to the table,” Machine head coach Bear Davis said. “He was a highly regarded defenseman in the draft. We got a chance to see him play a lot here at Ohio State and we know that he’ll be a great fit for us. We’re really looking forward to building this defense with him in it.” 

3. The UWLX and WPLL offer more opportunities for women’s lacrosse players to play after college, including former Syracuse star Tee Ladouceur. The 29-year-old returned to the field for the first time in seven years with the Philadelphia Force, playing alongside former Orange teammates Alyssa Murray and Michelle Tumolo. 

“I’m just extremely grateful for this opportunity to get to keep playing until I can’t play anymore,” Ladouceur said.“I just love the game so much.”

The WPLL returns to action this weekend with New York and Baltimore squaring off Saturday and New England and Upstate playing each other on Sunday. The next UWLX games take place July 7.

4. Massachusetts high school lacrosse is nearing its state finals as Longmeadow (Mass.) girls’ lacrosse and Boston College High (Mass.) boys’ lacrosse soar into their respective Nike/US Lacrosse National Top 25. 

Plus, the Brine/US Lacrosse girls’ and Warrior/US Lacrosse boys’ high school players of the week were named Monday.
