Good morning. Here's the latest from the lacrosse world:
1. Team USA blanks Hong Kong, China, for quarterfinal berth.
It took seven seconds for the U.S. to score, and the Americans didn’t stop in a 21-0 victory over Hong Kong, China. Hong Kong managed just three shots, and only one of those was on goal — Caylee Waters saved it.
Kylie Ohlmiller tallied a game-high six points on three goals and three assists. Marie McCool (three goals, one assist) and Kayla Treanor (two goals, two assists) posted four points apiece. Ally Mastrioanni tallied seven draw controls.
The win was the 27th straight in world championship play for the Americans, who will take on Japan in the quarterfinal round today at 8 p.m. on ESPN+.

2. There were a few surprises in the rest of the Championship bracket.
Haudenosaunee sent Scotland to the consolation bracket with an 11-9 win. Miya Scanlan (Jacksonville) scored five goals, while Jalyn Jimerson (Syracuse) tallied four assists and two goals. Australia, England and Canada are all moving on. The rest of Pool A won as Canada, Australia and England joined the U.S. in the championship quarterfinal.

3. Spain-Switzerland overtime thriller highlights Platinum Bracket round one.
Catalina Burguera’s overtime goal lifted Switzerland to a 6-5 victory over Spain in the first game of the day, while Sweden ended Argentina’s inaugural world championship appearance by beating the first-timers 12-10.

4. Arizona State names Taryn VanThof head coach.
Van Thorf was the assistant coach at Florida for six years and helped the Gators to conference championships and NCAA tournament appearances in each full season. She takes over a Sun Devils team that won 11 games, including seven in the Pac-12. Both win totals were program records. Tim McCormack departed for Johns Hopkins last month.
5. Syracuse men add two transfers.
Former LIU teammates Will Mark and Jake Murphy will play together again next year — only this time, they’ll be wearing Syracuse uniforms. Mark, a senior goalie, and Murphy, a graduate SSDM, announced their decisions to transfer to the Orange, according to multiple reports.
Mark is the reigning Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Year and is a two-time honorable mention All-American. He produced a .557 save percentage in three seasons between the pipes for LIU. Murphy scooped 52 ground balls in his final two seasons on the Island.
