Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Syracuse landed a major weapon for next season as Inside Lacrosse’s Ty Xanders reports that Loyola’s Chase Scanlan is transferring to the Orange. Scanlan had 43 goals and 15 assists as a freshman starter for the Greyhounds.
2. Kelly Amonte Hiller’s coaching tree continues to grow. Alex Frank, a three-time All-American at Northwestern under Amonte Hiller’s guidance, is the new head coach at Dartmouth. Frank, an assistant on the U.S. women’s senior team, was an assistant at Colorado (coaching under Northwestern alum Ann Elliott Whidden). At Dartmouth, she’ll replace Northwestern alum Danielle Spencer, now the head coach at Stanford.
3. US Lacrosse announced its high school All-America and All-Academic teams on Tuesday, honoring more than 2,500 athletes for their performances on and off the field.
4. Abby Wambach visited the U.S. women’s national lacrosse team during its training camp last month, providing an inspiration on propelling the sport forward.
5. NCAA champion and Tewaaraton winner Megan Taylor graces the cover of the July/August issue of US Lacrosse Magazine, which hits US Lacrosse member mailboxes this week.
