2. 2018 may be over, but you can vote for the U.S. Men's National Team in the International World Games Association Athlete of the Year Award. The first round of voting opened Tuesday and runs through Jan. 15. You can vote once per day.
3. You've heard all about the Premier Lacrosse League, but don't forget that co-founder Paul Rabil is continuing to play. He and his Team USA teammate Kyle Hartzell started off the year working out with U.S. national team strength and conditioning coach Jay Dyer.
4. Goalie Angus Goodleaf made 50 saves as Rochester opened its NLL season with a 13-9 win over Philadelphia. Defending champ Saskatchewan dropped its opener. More from the NLL in Jack Goods' notebook.
