Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Ah, Tuesdays. Continuing a recent trend of Tuesday upsets in men’s lacrosse, a pair of top 10 programs went down yesterday. No. 4 Maryland didn’t have another wild comeback up its sleeve, falling to Villanova 13-12. No. 7 Army allowed just nine goals combined in its first three games and then got blitzed 17-9 by Marist. How confident was Marist? Confident enough to celebrate a goal before the shot even happened.

The performance of the day started as those two games were winding down. Princeton senior Michael Sowers set Princeton and Ivy League single-game scoring marks with 14 points in the Tigers 20-11 win over Colgate. Sowers has 25 points after just two games this season.

2. Alyssa Parrella became the only active women’s Division I player with 200 career goals as Hofstra pulled away from a 6-6 halftime tie to beat Wagner 15-8. Parrella hit the milestone with her seventh goal of the game and finished with a career-high eight.

3. In his weekly column on USLaxMagazine.com, ESPN’s Anish Shrosh riffs on the relationship between former Princeton lacrosse coach Bill Tierney and former Princeton basketball coach John Thompson III, and how they learned from each other.

4. The two teams that finished on top of the Nike/US Lacrosse high school rankings begin 2020 on top. Culver (Ind.) is on top in the boys rankings while McDonogh (Md.) leads the girls rankings.

5. The debut podcast of Season 3 of “Overtime” with Paul Carcaterra is now live on Apple and Spotify. Carc talks with Philadelphia Wings and Team USA stars Trevor Baptiste, Matt Rambo and Blaze Riorden.
