1. Ty Warner, a two-time PLL champion with Whipsnakes LC and a NCAA champion at Yale, announced yesterday that he will not play in the PLL this season in order to focus on medical school. Here’s a look back to Nelson Rice’s feature on Warner from last January.

6. Cliff Stevenson, the Brown men’s lacrosse coach for 22 years, died on Monday. Stevenson, who played at Springfield and also coached at Oberlin, had a record of 170-95 from 1961 to 1982, winning Ivy League championships in 1968 and 1973. He was inducted into the IMLCA Hall of Fame in 2019.

• US Lacrosse announced eight webinars for men’s and women’s game officials to help get them ready for the season. The series opens on Sunday night with Penn State associate head coach Peter Toner opening a three-session series on helping officials understand the coaches’ perspective.

• The pandemic prevented the USC women’s lacrosse team from having fall practices, but the players made the most of their extra time. A look at some of their fall internships.

• Eastern Maine Lacrosse, a Bangor-based program, is ready to start the 2021 season after COVID wiped out last spring’s season.

• The Daily Collegian with a look at how a Grant Ament-less, but still loaded, Penn State squad can rise to No. 1 in the country.

• Ryan Polak has been named as the new head men’s lacrosse coach at Oberlin. A midfielder at Washington College, Polak spent the last three seasons as an assistant at Kenyon.
