Jared Bernhardt, the 2021 Tewaaraton Award winner, took the next step in his made for Hollywood journey. The former Maryland lacrosse star parlayed a strong training camp with the Atlanta Falcons into making the team’s initial 53-man roster.

2. The documentary grabbing the lacrosse world.

Fate of a Sport, the documentary on Mike and Paul Rabil’s effort to build the Premier Lacrosse League hit ESPN+ this week. Matt DaSilva offers a review of the raw and honest look into the process.

Jennifer Wong, a longtime assistant coach at Temple, has been named as the new head women’s lacrosse coach at Cal.
 

4. Five tips for high school juniors getting ready to begin recruiting process

Josie Pell, a freshman midfielder at James Madison who interned at USA Lacrosse this past spring, offers her advice to high school juniors as the Sept. 1 recruiting date nears.

• The National Lacrosse League announced that the first round of its entry draft on Sept. 10 will be available on ESPN+ in the United States. 

• Loyola rising senior Adam Poitras as named the MVP of the Minto Cup after leading the Whitby Warriors to the coveted Canadian championship.

• Towson men’s lacrosse player Brian Hoskins was named the Ocean City (Md.) Beach Patrol Rookie Athlete of the Year.

• Chapman, one of the MCLA’s top programs, has promoted alum and assistant coach Joel Kallas to the role of head coach.

• Jessica Becker has been promoted to associate head coach for the Colgate women’s lacrosse program.

• Nicole Beardsley is joining the women’s lacrosse staff at Colorado after coaching at Massachusetts last season.

• Former American player Kendall Goldblum has been named as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Massachusetts.

• Fairfield has hired former Ohio State player Lindsay Epstein as an assistant coach.

• Former Delaware men’s lacrosse player Jake Hervada is back with the Blue Hens as a volunteer assistant coach.

• Former Potsdam State captain Kerry Mayette has been hired as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at her alma mater.
