1. Roseburg, a small timber town on the western slope of Oregon’s Cascade Mountains, has become the unlikely home of a passionate lacrosse community—one that has benefited from the vision of a couple of East Coast transplants and resources provided by US Lacrosse.

2. Denise Wescott, the former Monmouth, Mount St. Mary’s and Delaware women’s lacrosse coach who will be inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame as a truly great contributor in September, is headed to the West Coast to become an assistant at Cal. Wescott boasts more than 30 years of coaching experience both domestically and internationally, having also led the German national team for several years.

3. NCAA Research has released findings related to sport specialization in recent days, and lacrosse actually grades favorably compared to other sports.

4. The 29th-annual Lake Placid Summit Classic continued Tuesday with plenty of action in the boys’ and girls’ scholastic divisions. Champions will be crowned today.
