• Really cool first-person account from Denver Post sportswriter Kyle Newman on how his childhood “nemesis” Eric Law became one of the sport’s best players.

• The MIAA and IAAM, two Maryland-based private school leagues that house some of the nation’s premier lacrosse programs, officially canceled their 2020 spring sports seasons.

• Similar news came later in the day from Long Island, with both Nassau and Suffolk County school superintendents announcing the end of the spring sports season.

• Urbana College, a small NCAA Division II school in Ohio, announced it was closing for good due to financial strain influenced by the coronavirus pandemic. The school was set to have its first women’s lacrosse season in the 2020-21 academic year.

• The Chesapeake Bayhawks have named Chris Burdick as assistant head coach and defensive coordinator.

• Defensive middie Peter Dearth is the latest Syracuse player to announce he’s coming back for another year with the Orange.

• UConn’s Jacqueline Manno is reaping the benefits on a mentorship program through the Women’s Sports Foundation and NBC Sports Group.

• A Q&A with Virginia defenseman Kyle Kology during the week the ACC tournament should be played.

• It wasn’t a long freshman season for Syracuse’s Bianca Chevarie, but the Canadian U19 national team player made the most of it.
