Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The NLL Draft is today — and expansion teams Philadelphia and San Diego are in the spotlight as they look to build off what’s already been a busy offseason.
Top names in the draft include Chris Cloutier (North Carolina/Denver), Connor Fields (Albany/Charlotte) and Austin Staats (Onondaga Community College).
2. Alison Harbaugh, daughter of Ravens coach John Harbaugh, committed to play lacrosse at Notre Dame, he confirmed Monday at his weekly press conference while wearing a Notre Dame lacrosse sweater.
“Great place, really amazing coaching staff there and great university and great people, and she's gotten really close with all of the players and the recruits,” John Harbaugh said. “That's where she wanted to go from the beginning. She loved it there.”
Alison, a St. Paul’s (Md.) junior, plays for TLC Lacrosse. According to the Baltimore Sun, she was also recruited by Boston College, Johns Hopkins and Virginia Tech.
3. Kevin Cassese, a 2018 National Lacrosse Hall of Fame inductee, had a decorated playing career at Duke, in Major League Lacrosse and with Team USA, but to many, he was as good a leader as the sport has produced.
“Kevin Cassese is without question the greatest leader on the lacrosse field I have ever been around,” said former Blue Devils coach Mike Pressler, who has coached college lacrosse for 35 years and had two stints on the Team USA coaching staff.
