Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Ecuador and Ukraine have been admitted into the Federation of International Lacrosse as the newest member nations, the FIL announced Monday. Sixty-two countries now are represented in the sport’s international governing body. Ecuador is the fifth South American nation and Ukraine is the eighth country from Eastern Europe to gain representation. “We will continue to aggressively pursue international member nation expansion,” FIL CEO Jim Scherr said. “We see the germination of new clubs on all continents now.”

2. Jack Starr, Matt Brandau and Jackson Morrill gave Yale men’s lacrosse fans cause for optimism about the defending NCAA champions’ prospects post-Ben Reeves, each with productive performances against the U.S. national team.

3. The Team USA Fall Classic featured top-notch competition in front of packed crowds at Tierney Field. Check out photo galleries from the U.S. men vs. Yale, the U.S. women vs. James Madison, and the U.S. U19 women vs. Navy.

WHAT WE’RE READING

• Kyle Aviak, an original member of the Kugluktuk Grizzlies, was on hand for the premiere of the film, “The Grizzlies,” based on the true events surrounding a lacrosse team that provided an outlet for the troubled youth of the isolated Nunavut territory in Canada.

• The Penn State and Virginia men’s lacrosse teams played to a tie in the Bob Kemp Lacrosse Classic in North Bethesda, Md., where Inside Lacrosse’s Christian Swezey notes that the 80-second shot clock made for a faster-paced game and Nittany Lions attackman Grant Ament looked great in his return from a foot injury.

• The NLL’s New England Black Wolves acquired goalie Alex Buque from the Buffalo Bandits in exchange for a 2021 first-round draft pick. Buque is coming off a 6-6 season in which he finished with a career-best 515 saves.
