Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The lacrosse community celebrated Indigenous Peoples Day with a swell of social media posts Monday.

At US Lacrosse, we reflected on the recent lessons learned in a virtual presentation made by Andrew Lee, vice chair of the US Lacrosse Board of Directors and chair of the US Lacrosse Native American Advisory Council. Lee is half Seneca.

Here’s a sample of similar reflections from others who commemorated the day by paying homage to the origins and originators of the sport.

2. The NCAA is on the cusp of finalizing legislation to allow athletes to be compensated for their name, image, and likeness. Sports Illustrated obtained a copy of the 22-page document representing the latest draft of the rules.

3. Sankofa clinician and Puerto Rican national team player Sophia Lugo told US Lacrosse’s Donovan Dennis about her lacrosse upbringing and future goals. In a Q&A featured in a monthly newsletter, Lugo gave a hat tip to Tari Kandemiri aka Official Lax Girl for learning about Puerto Rico’s lacrosse program and the late Roberto Clemente for inspiring her to make a difference in the world.
