Good morning. Here's the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Lacrosse is heading to Hong Kong, China.

The top women’s junior-level teams will compete in the 2024 Women’s U20 Championship, with China Hong Kong Lacrosse Association serving as the hosts.

Featured games will be played at the 6,500-seat Mong Kok Stadium, including the semi-finals, final and bronze medal contests. The venue is also the site of Hong Kong Premier League Football games.

This is the first time Hong Kong, China, will host a World Lacrosse championship since the founding of the China Hong Kong Lacrosse Association in 1993. Read more

2. New Division I teams are diving head-first into the fray.

Queens and Lindenwood are among the teams transitioning from Division II to Division I this year, and they plan to challenge themselves right away in the new-look Atlantic Sun lineup. Jacksonville and Mercer are also joining the ASUN from the Southern Conference, which will not sponsor men’s lacrosse this season. Matt DaSilva breaks down the schedules

3. Middlebury’s Erin Nicholas is a finalist for Woman of the Year.

Two-sport star Erin Nicholas added another line to her resume yesterday when the field hockey and women’s lacrosse crossover star was named one of nine finalists for the NCAA’s Woman of the Year award.

The nine finalists include three representatives from each division who are standouts in academics, athletics, community service and leadership. Nicholas fits that bill, having helped Middlebury to a Division III title in women’s lacrosse. It wasn’t the first time she was part of the last team standing, though. Nicholas won four field hockey and two lacrosse championships. She graduated summa cum laude in May with degrees in molecular biology and biochemistry. Read more.

• Tonawanda Seneca elder Leon Sam Briggs shared his knowledge of the game’s traditions, origins and spirituality when he visited Wilmington College. “It’s not just a game. It’s what we do. It’s who we are and what we believe in,” he said.

• Army West Point senior attacker Margaret Williams is a 2023 Rhodes Scholar.

• The New York Riptide signed a multi-year deal to remain at Nassau Coliseum, according to a release.
