1. ​The long-awaited news became official on Monday morning when the Premier Lacrosse League announced that two-time all-world attackman and 2018 Major League Lacrosse MVP Rob Pannell would be joining the PLL. Pannell was under contract with the MLL until March 1, 2020.

Pannell is this week’s podcast guest on Overtime with Paul Carcaterra.

2. North Carolina and Northwestern put on a show last night with the Tar Heels outgunning the Wildcats 20-18 before a nationally-televised audience on the Big Ten Network. Katie Hoeg had eight points to become North Carolina’s all-time leading scorer and Northwestern’s Izzy Scane had a career-high eight goals.

3. The Nike/US Lacrosse rankings were revealed on Monday. A snapshot:

• Syracuse is the new No. 1 in NCAA Division I men

• Dartmouth climbs in NCAA Division I women

• LeMoyne takes over at No. 1 in NCAA Division II men

• Queen’s moves to No. 1 for first time in NCAA Division II women

• Big upset brings Ithaca into NCAA Division III men

• W&L climbs into top five of NCAA Division III women

4. Columbia head women’s lacrosse coach Andrea Cofrin resigned on Monday, effective immediately, with nine games remaining on the schedule

5. Yale’s TD Ierlan and Stony Brook’s Ally Kennedy are the US Lacrosse Players of the Week.

• Loyola graduate Pat Spencer and Maryland graduate Megan Taylor have been named as finalists for the Sullivan Award, honoring the nation’s top amateur athlete.

• The Big Ten Network officially announced its 2020 television schedule on Monday.

• Hartwick has canceled a string of games over the next several days due to concerns about the coronavirus.
