Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Canada was awarded hosting duties for the 2022 FIL Men’s World Championship, the Canadian Lacrosse Association announced Monday, which comes just two weeks after reaching an agreement with the National Lacrosse Team Players’ Association.

Games will be played July 13-24, 2022, at Percy Perry Stadium in Coquitlam, British Columbia, which was also the site of the 2008 and 2016 FIL U19 Men’s World Championships.

“We look forward to welcoming the international lacrosse community to beautiful Coquitlam in 2022 and showcasing Canada's national summer sport to the world,” CLA president Joey Harris said.

The 2022 games will mark the first men’s senior championship that will be limited to 30 qualifying countries, as opposed to the 48 nations that will compete in Israel this summer. 

2. Ryan Brown played his way onto the U.S. men’s national team with his sharpshooter ways. He proved he wasn’t one-dimensional, complementing standout dodgers Rob Pannell, Paul Rabil, Tom Schreiber and Jordan Wolf.

“A lot of guys can shoot it hard, but he can score,” Team USA coach John Danowski said of Brown. “He could shoot righty. He could shoot lefty. He could shoot inside or with time and room. He could cut. Would you ask him to dodge? No, you wouldn’t ask him to do that, but if he had to in a pinch, he could certainly do that.”

Team USA arrived in Foxborough, Mass., Monday for training camp Tuesday and Wednesday before competing in the MLL All-Star Game on Thursday. 

“That’s the closest thing you’re going to get to playing four games in a row, which we’ll be doing in two weeks,” Danowski said.

3. Eric Miccio, a West Genesee graduate and two-time OCC national champion, was named the next head coach for the Onondaga Community College men’s lacrosse team. He replaces longtime coach Chuck Wilbur, who led the program for 17 seasons, winning 11 national championships.

"I'm honored to be coming home to Central New York and taking over a legendary program at a place which had such a significant impact on my life," Miccio said. "So much of what I accomplished as both a student and an athlete is due to the two years I spent here learning and growing under the guidance of Coach Wilbur and his outstanding staff. I look forward to working with our student-athletes, the college and the community as we continue the great tradition of Lazers men's lacrosse."

4. The Florida Launch is hot, scoring at least 20 goals for the second time in three weeks in a 21-17 win over Charlotte on Saturday. Their offensive spark is much in part thanks to Kieran McArdle with seven points in the victory. 

Plus, the Dallas Rattlers and Denver Outlaws completed season sweeps over their opponents, Atlanta and Ohio, respectively. Rattlers goalie John Galloway earned player of the week honors with 18 saves on 31 shots.

• Florida Launch attackman Dylan Molloy has been added to the MLL All-Star roster for Thursday’s game. 

• According to College Crosse and Spectrum News, former Albany associate head coach Liam Gleason is on his way to becoming the Siena men’s lacrosse coach. 

• Webster Thomas faceoff specialist Joe Luconte participated in the HEADstrong Foundation campaign, raising over $2,600 in honor of his aunt who died of breast cancer. 

• Bennett Osterink, a 2016 Seminole High graduate, is a fourth generation Michigan State Spartan, who helped his team defeat Chapman 10-8 in the MCLA national championship.
