Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1Major League Lacrosse released new uniform sets for 2020.

The jerseys, made by New Balance and called “Shakedown Jerseys,” are inspired by NASA’s heat shield protection on space shuttles. An MLL press release said that they are the most advanced uniforms offered to athletes by New Balance.

Chesapeake Bayhawks goalie Brian Phipps said the jerseys breathe better and weight “just a fraction of last year’s jerseys.”

Check out each of the teams’ mockups here.

2. Jared Bernhardt is on the fence.

The All-American and Tewaaraton finalist planned to graduate from Maryland and play football at Ferris State next fall before the COVID-19 pandemic opened up a world of possibilities. Dox Aitken, a player on a similar path, is playing football at Villanova and then returning to Virginia in the spring thanks to a rather unique NCAA statute.

Bernhardt isn’t sure if he’ll do the same. There are a variety of factors, and you can learn more about his thinking here.

3. Bowdoin College made a big announcement regarding fall athletics.

The NESCAC institution announced that “due to limits on campus attendance,” all sports in the upcoming fall semester have been canceled. There remains the “opportunity for the winter, spring and possibly fall varsity athletes to participate and compete in some form after January 1.”

This means no fall ball for Bowdoin. On the positive side, there will be no elimination of programs and no furloughs or cuts in the athletic department.
