Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Robert Morris officially announced its move to the Horizon League.
It’s still unclear what this means for its men’s and women’s lacrosse programs, however. Previously Northeast Conference competitors, this move leaves the lacrosse teams without homes for the time being.
The school’s football team will operate as an independent in 2020 before joining the Big South in 2021. More on the innerworkings of the move right here by Seth Rorabaugh of TribLive.com.
2. The Premier Lacrosse League is teasing schedules with — you guessed it! — emojis.
The PLL Championship Series begins July 25 at Zions Bank Stadium in Utah.
The entire tournament — a fanless event in lieu of a normal season due to COVID-19 — will be during what was supposed to be the Olympics schedule on NBC Sports. Inside Lacrosse’s Matt Kinnear reports that through July 31 (which doesn’t even cover the entire tournament), there will be 16 hours of PLL on national television.
3. A trio of players signed extensions with the PLL yesterday.
