Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. U.S. senior team announces 67 tryout invitees. Some of the world’s best men’s players will vie for a chance to help the U.S. senior team defend its world championship.

Head coach John Danowski and his staff have invited back seven gold medalists from 2018, including Rob Pannell and Tom Schreiber, who scored the world championship-winning goal against Canada. Tewaaraton winner Logan Wisnauakas and fellow 2022 finalists Sam Handley, Connor Shellenberger and Brendan Nichtern are also among those in the running for a roster spot. See the full list.

The opening round of tryouts begin this week at USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md. 

2. The U.S. U21 men’​s team is set to play – finally.

The COVID-19 pandemic transformed the U19 world championship into a U21 affair. Many of the players have gone on to become the stars of their college teams, but there’s no ego on the roster. The players have reconvened with gratitude and a determination to win gold. Read more about the team’s run-up to this year’s long-awaited world championship in Ireland.

3. PLL Week 2 power rankings are out.

After two weeks of PLL action, the Atlas, Chrome and Whipsnakes look like title contenders. But the Redwoods seem to have more questions than answers, writes Jack Goods in his weekly power rankings.

4. There’s more college coaching news.

Bryant hired Brad Ross as its next head coach, the university announced Monday. Ross was the offensive coordinator at Navy and played for former head coach Mike Pressler at Duke. No stranger to Rhode Island, Ross was an assistant for the Bulldogs from 2011-14 and later served as the recruiting and offensive coordinator at Ohio State.

• The Jacksonville men’s team won’t be hopping on the coaching carousel. The Dolphins and John Galloway have inked a long-term deal.

• Chris Jastrzembski has reported that Manhattan head coach Drew Kelleher is set to become the next head coach at UMass Lowell, a program in need of a lift.

5. USA Lacrosse unveils July/August cover.

Maryland’s season will go down in NCAA lore — and it landed the Terps on the cover of our next issue, coming soon to USA Lacrosse members nationwide.

The new issue also recaps North Carolina’s perfect season and previews the upcoming women’s world championship, which begins on June 29 on the campus of Towson University in Maryland.

• The NLL is gearing up for a winner-take-all Game 3 after Colorado stormed back to beat Buffalo over the weekend without its two leading scorers. Goods writes that the Mammoth’s next-man-up mentality fueled the comeback.

• Could we catch Patriots head coach Bill Belichick on the PLL sidelines as a head coach? Paul Rabil thinks it could happen — he’s not kidding, either.

• The Syracuse women’s lacrosse team is perennially one of the best in the land. But nearly three decades ago, members of the club team went toe-to-toe with the Syracuse athletic department in court, writes Madelyn Geywer for TheNewhouse.com. The result paved the way for players like Katie Rowan, Michelle Tumolo, Kayla Treanor and Meaghan Tyrrell to shine on a national stage.

• Jared Bernhardt: Part II? Jackson Carver of Woodbury (Minn.) is a top lacrosse prospect now raking in offers from college football coaches, reports Chip Scoggins of the Star Tribune.
