Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The NLL trade market was active on Monday.

The Georgia Swarm were the busiest, announcing two deals within a span of a couple hours. The Swarm traded Jason Noble to the Toronto Rock for a conditional first-round pick (2020 or 2022) and a 2021 first-round pick and then sent Zed Williams and two second-round picks to the Colorado Mammoth for Dan Coates and the sixth overall pick in the 2020 NLL Draft.

The New York Riptide were also involved in two trades, acquiring Derrick Downs and Mac Mitchell from the Calgary Roughnecks and New England Black Wolves, respectively. Catch up on all the action from Monday.

2. The lacrosse community spoke out against racial injustice this summer. Stars of the game decided they would be silent no more.

3. Howard is headed to the NEC.

The school announced that women’s lacrosse, among six sports, will accept an invitation to join the Northeast Conference. The women’s lacrosse program will be the sixth member of the NEC and will join the conference for the 2020-21 season.

4. James Purpura was hired as the next head coach at VMI.

Purpura, the former Arcadia head coach, returns to the school where he served as an assistant in 2017 and 2018. More on Purpura’s hiring.

5. Missed out on filling out brackets this year?

The Premier Lacrosse League unveiled Monday the Championship Series Challenge, which allows fans to fill out a bracket and compete against friends.
