Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The Patriot League has canceled fall sports.

The latest league to cancel fall athletics, the Patriot League will not allow any fall competition — including fall lacrosse. Army and Navy are exempt from the ruling because they are “unique in their environments and their missions within higher education.”

“While this policy applies to all league sponsored sports, Army and Navy are specifically excepted from this policy based on their unique ethos and role intercollegiate competition plays in their broader missions to educate and train officers to serve in the U.S. armed forces,” Army AD Mike Buddie said in a statement.

2. Go inside how Major League Lacrosse finalized its season.

US Lacrosse Magazine contributor Phil Shore spoke with MLL executives and players about how the league’s 20^th anniversary season came to be. The current structure was the league’s fourth option, but in the ever-changing COVID world, it proved to be the most logical.

“We had multiple conversations at the league and team level and the ownership level to figure this out,” MLL commissioner Alexander Brown said. “Like every other league, we went through a lot of different scenarios.”

The MLL’s 2020 season kicks of July 18 on the ESPN family of networks. A champion will be crowned July 26. Read the full story here.

3. The High Point men have promoted Ken Broschart to associate head coach.

Broschart joined the High Point staff in 2017 and served as the offensive coordinator in 2019. He led the offense to the most productive season in program history that year, as the offense broke records for points (354), goals (232), assists (122) and shooting percentage (.340) in a single season.
