Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. LaxCon is moving to Philadelphia.

On Monday, US Lacrosse formally announced the Pennsylvania Convention Center as the site of its annual US Lacrosse Convention and Fan Fest in 2019 and 2020.

LaxCon, which will take place Jan. 11-13, 2019, and Jan. 10-12, 2020, is the largest professional development event and trade show in the world for lacrosse coaches, officials, leaders and fans. Philly last hosted the event in 2014.

“Philadelphia has demonstrated enthusiasm for lacrosse and popularity as a site for LaxCon,” Kim Rogers, director of events at US Lacrosse, said. “We have long enjoyed a great relationship with the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau and are looking forward to engaging the local lacrosse community for LaxCon in 2019 and 2020.”

2. This week’s Nike/US Lacrosse rankings saw Boston College and James Madison crack the Top 5 on the women’s side at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively, both sitting comfortably with a 3-0 record to start 2018. Reigning national champion Maryland remained No. 1 after netting a key win over then-No. 4 Florida, 16-14.

On the men’s side, Colgate debuted at No. 19 after a 14-11 defeat of Cornell, the first home win in the series since 1964. Villanova and Army were the big movers, up five spots, while Albany inched one spot higher, now sitting at No. 3 after a convincing 15-3 win over Syracuse.
