Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. High Point is hot.
For the second time in less than two weeks, the Panthers topped an ACC opponent on the road, this time over Virginia 14-13 to advance to 4-0 in this early season. Sophomore Asher Nolting led the way with four goals and senior Tim Troutner Jr. recorded 17 saves for HPU.
"I just love the way our guys execute the game plan,” said High Point coach Jon Torpey. “Asher plays amazing. Timmy plays amazing. … I could sit here and talk about everybody, but all-around team effort. I'm unbelievably proud of these guys."
In other Monday action, Syracuse women cruised past Coastal Carolina 18-5, Ohio State women defeated Brown 15-14 in overtime and Vermont women topped Manhattan 10-7.
2. Loyola is the new No. 1 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Men’s Top 20 after defending national champion Yale opened with an overtime loss to Villanova. Army, which defeated Rutgers, and the Wildcats jumped into the rankings this week.
3. Duke, Georgetown and Johns Hopkins are the newcomers in this week’s Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Women’s Top 20, while Boston College solidified its No. 1 spot with a comeback win over Syracuse.
4. In Division II, Limestone is an early riser, up to No. 7 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Women’s Top 20, while Mercy and Lynn soar into the Top 10 in the Men’s Top 20.
5. In Division III, Meredith enters at No. 20 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Women’s Top 20, and two teams move into the Top 10 in the Men’s Top 20 – No. 9 Dension and No. 10 Dickinson.
6. Inside Lacrosse, the IWLCA and the USILA also released media and coaches polls Monday.

Of note, Northwestern rose three spots to No. 4 in the IWLCA Division I poll, while Navy and Towson hang on at No. 18 and No. 19, respectively. Syracuse jumped to No. 7, Penn State holds strong at No. 10 and USC is No. 18 in the IL media poll.
Duke men sit at No. 5 and Syracuse holds the No. 20 spot in the USILA Division I poll. Denver is ranked ninth and the Orange are 17th in the IL media poll.
7. Hobart’s Matthew Pedicine and Boston College’s Sam Apuzzo are the Warrior/US Lacrosse men's and Brine/US Lacrosse women's players of the week, respectively.
8. The Big Ten Network will air 28 games this year, including all conference tournament games. The broadcast schedule includes 14 men’s games and 14 women’s games.
