1. ​Syracuse became the second top-five team in the Nike/US Lacrosse women’s preseason rankings to suffer an upset in a span of just three days as Stony Brook edged the Orange 17-16 on Monday night.

Stony Brook stars Taryn Ohilmiller (6g, 2a) and Ally Kennedy (3g, 4a) had big nights and freshman Kailyn Hart punctuated the win with this behind-the-back shot that was the No. 4 play on ESPN’s Sports Center.

2. In the only Division I men’s game on Monday, No. 14 Army continued its dominant defensive play to start 2020. For the second straight game, Army pitched a first-half shutout, this time beating NJIT 19-1 on Monday.

4. The changes keep coming in Major League Lacrosse as the league announced on Monday afternoon that the league would not operate the Dallas franchise in 2020.

6. The first US Lacrosse National Player of the Week awards went to Virginia’s Ashlyn McGovern and Syracuse’s Chase Scanlan.
