Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. You choose: Who’s best in goal?
Goalies get tricky. Only one has ever won the Tewaaraton — and it took nearly two decades before Megan Taylor broke the mold in 2019. But in 2022, goalies made their mark. Emily Sterling helped lead Maryland back to the Final Four. Taylor Moreno went from being benched to making a redemption save in the waning seconds of UNC’s epic comeback against Northwestern. Two days later, she was a national champion, and about two months after that, the took the Athlete’s Unlimited individual crown. Liam Entenmann struck gold with the U21 team in Ireland, and Dillon Ward won PLL and NLL titles. It’s a tough call. You have a few hours left to make it on
Twitter. You can read up on the nominees
here.
2. There’s a new No. 1 in the NLL Power Rankings
San Diego, who had the top spot for two straight weeks, was off last weekend. Halifax capitalized with a dominant 20-11 win against New York. The win catapulted the T-Birds from No. 3 to No. 1. San Diego came in at No. 2. Jack Goods delivers the rest.
3. Lacrosse community rallies behind Jen Muston
The lacrosse community is cheering for and trying to help Jen Muston, a former UMBC player and current head coach at York College of Pennsylvania. Muston has stage four chronic kidney disease and needs a donor, according to a post on the IWLCA Instagram page.
