Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Moving story by Matt Hamilton from our December print edition illustrating how lacrosse helped transform Aaron Locke’s life and get him on the right path.

Aaron Locke spent nearly a year at the Ferris School for Boys, a Level 5 correctional facility. Lacrosse helped change his life.

2. Lax Sports Network will be the home for the 2020 Spring Premiere in San Antonio. LSN will carry all four U.S. team games (senior and U19) the weekend of Jan. 4-5.

3. Lax Sports Network also released its 33-game 2020 CAA lacrosse schedule over the weekend.

4. An impressive 2-0 start means the New England Blackwolves should be taken seriously. Jack Goods with his weekly NLL Notebook.

5. On the day the Top Gun 2 trailer was released, the NLL announced the San Diego Seals and Vancouver Warriors will play a game on the flight line at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar on Feb. 22.

6. Tim Soudan, a two-time U.S. national team gold medalist, and longtime professional player and coach, has been named as the new head coach for the PLL’s Chrome franchise. Early in the day, reigning champion Whipsnakes announced that head coach Jim Stagnitta received a contract extension through 2021.

WHAT WE’RE READING

• US Lacrosse announced that it is continuing funding for the largest study ever launched to evaluate injury rate differences between helmeted and non-helmeted girls’ players.

• Wild story in the Philadelphia Inquirer on Notre Dame’s Tommy McNamara chasing down a purse-snatcher in South Bend, helping out an elderly woman while reaching out to a troubled teen.

• Great honor for former UMass player Eric Sopracasa, who died after being struck by a ball during a practice in 1999. He was inducted into the Sachem (N.Y.) High School Hall of Fame. His jersey number was previously retired by UMass.

• MLL with a profile of All-Star Game MVP and New York Lizards attackman Dylan Molloy.

• Inside Lacrosse pays homage to Salisbury’s 2012 NCAA Division III men’s championship squad.

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING

Watching some Northwestern hoops on Sunday and lacrosse continues to feel the love from Pat Spencer’s emergence on the hardwood. The BTN crew broke down Spencer’s lacrosse career at Loyola that resulted in a Tewaaraton award. Here’s a highlight from the game in which Spencer dropped 15 points and four assists to lead Northwestern to a 72-54 win over Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
