Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. We celebrated the one-year anniversary of the U.S. U19 women’s team’s gold medal.
On Aug. 10, 2019, Team USA captured a gold medal in the World Lacrosse Women’s Championship with a 13-3 win over Canada in Peterborough, Ontario.
Hard to believe it's already been a year since we took home U19 gold. Wouldn't trade a second of our journey for anything. Here's how we conquered the world: https://t.co/CgPeGHK66D pic.twitter.com/WuikPXrIaa

At the heart of the effort was Duke’s Maddie Jenner, who won eight draws in the game and 61 in the seven-game tournament. She was motivated to train harder on the draw by her older sister, Olivia, who starred at Duke and holds numerous program draw records.
“Watching her excel in high school really motivated me,” Maddie Jenner said.

2. The Philadelphia Wings have swung another major trade.
On July 31, the Wings announced a blockbuster trade in which they acquired Ben McIntosh from the Saskatchewan Rush in exchange for Josh Currier. Draft picks were also involved on both sides.
On Monday, the Wings unloaded Liam Patten and Justin Guterding to the Buffalo Bandits for Brock Sorensen and a conditional second round pick.

3. How did the Whipsnakes complete their remarkable comeback?
Inside Lacrosse’s Terry Foy spoke with Whips head coach Jim Stagnitta about the furious 10-goal spurt. Chaos led 6-2 with 5:38 left in the third quarter after Dhane Smith’s goal. That was the last time they’d score, as the Whips won their second consecutive title.
