Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The NCAA Division I Council votes this week on recruiting legislation that, for lacrosse, would roll back the date of contact to June 15 of a prospective student-athlete’s sophomore year of high school, an 11-week bump from the Sept. 1 junior year date approved by the NCAA in April of 2017.

The New York Times noted Monday that while there is broad support for curtailing early recruiting in all sports, lacrosse and softball coaches strongly prefer to stick to Sept. 1, and have requested exemption from Proposal 2018-93.

We first reported on the subject March 26.

2. San Diego Seals forward Austin Staats, the NLL Rookie of the Year frontunner, will miss remainder of season with a torn ACL in his right knee, the team announced Monday.

Staats’ injury is a huge blow for the playoff-bound Seals. He leads all rookies in goals (32), assists (29) and points (61) in 14 games. Staats was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NLL entry draft last September.

The Seals moved swiftly to sign Joe Walters, who was with the team during preseason and who previously spent eight season with the Rochester Knighthawks.

3. Consensus at the top, turnover at the bottom and madness in the middle. That might be the best way to characterize the national rankings with just a few weeks left in the college lacrosse regular season. The Nike/US Lacrosse rankings are summarized below, followed by links to all of the major media and coaches polls from the various divisions.
