1. The U.S. men’s indoor team is moving onto the semifinals of the World Indoor Lacrosse Championship after beating the Czech Republic 17-3 last night. The U.S. plays the Iroquois Nationals tonight in the semifinals at 8 pm (Eastern) on Lax Sports Network.

Connor Kelly put his speed on his display in a eight-point effort. Kelly has 16 points in two games since joining the squad after helping the Whipsnakes win the PLL championship.

2. Team USA star Taylor Cummings visited WMAR-TV (ABC affiliate in Baltimore) for a Midday Maryland segment that will promote next month’s Fall Classic.

• The MLL has named its Dave Huntley Man of the Year nominees.

• The PLL announced a crowd of 12,556 for its championship game in Philadelphia.

• Team USA star Rob Pannell was among the Major League Lacrosse Players of the Week for the final week of the regular season.

• WPLL player Daniela Eppler has joined the women’s lacrosse staff at Pitt.

• Syracuse and Denver will play at Cortland on Oct. 5 as part of the Red Dragons’ Lacrosse Legends Weekend. Denver coach Bill Tierney is a Cortland alum.

• A Title IX lawsuit alleges the University of Kentucky is discriminating against female athletes for refusing to create varsity programs for its female students. One of the plantiffs in the suit is a former high school lacrosse player.

• The club men’s lacrosse team at Rice has seen an influx of women joining this year.
