Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Former Syracuse and Team USA star Ryan Powell soon will join older brother Casey as a member of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

“Rhino,” described by one former coach as a “bull in a china shop,” will be enshrined with the rest of the class of 2018 during a Sept. 29 ceremony in Hunt Valley, Md. (buy tickets).

Often overlooked in a family of three kids is the middle sibling. Casey Powell was inducted in 2017. Younger brother Mike likewise starred at Syracuse and for Team USA and then pursued a career in music. Ryan, a two-time U.S. team midfielder and a captain of the world champion 2010 squad, earned his induction on his own.

2. Florida Tech men’s lacrosse head coach Ryan McAleavey has resigned for personal reasons, according to the school.

Florida Tech has named Mark Penn, an assistant coach that has worked primarily with the Panthers’ defense over the last five seasons, as the acting head coach.

McAleavey represented the first coach in team history, helping to usher the Panthers into NCAA Division II play in 2012. After some predictable struggles during the first three seasons, Florida Tech posted a 35-24 record in the last four. The Panthers moved from the Deep South Conference to the Sunshine State Conference during McAleavey’s tenure, for which he finished with a 46-53 overall mark.

The Panthers rebounded from a 1-4 start to post a 9-6 campaign last season, reaching the SSC tournament final for the second consecutive season. Absent from the announcement of McAleavey’s were comments from Florida Tech athletics department staff or him. McAleavey coached 39 all-league players and three USILA All-Americans during his seven years leading the Panthers.

• Lacrosse All Stars profiled one male and one female pro lacrosse “game changer.”

• Onward State (Pa.) reported that Panzer Stadium, the nicely renovated home of Penn State lacrosse, will be unveiled to fans at an alumni game for the men’s program Friday.

• MinnPost (Minn.) reported an increase in participation in high school lacrosse in the state, per data from the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).

• Inside Lacrosse has ranked Virginia’s incoming class of men’s lacrosse recruits as No. 1 in the nation.

• Or listening to, as yesterday’s Bloomberg Business of Sports podcast included a discussion of the recently increased salary cap in Major League Lacrosse.
