Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The World Indoor Lacrosse Championship commenced with opening ceremonies Wednesday night at Langley Events Centre in Langley, British Columbia. The games start today, headlined by a 7:30 p.m. (10:30 p.m. Eastern) nightcap between the U.S. and Canada at the Langley Arena Bowl. The four-time world champion Canadians have never lost in world indoor championship play.
2. Team USA’s Tom Schreiber, who injured his shoulder in a Premier Lacrosse League game Sept. 6, was not on the 23-man roster announced Wednesday. U.S. roster adjustments included the addition of forward Davey Emala (New England Black Wolves) and transition player Adam Osika (Philadelphia Wings).
3. A mix of veterans and newcomers comprise the core of the U.S. indoor team, which has finished in third place (behind Canada and the Iroquois) in the four previous world indoor championships (2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015).
