2. MLL executives and players — those who have chosen to remain with the league rather than sign with the PLL — believe there’s still value in the home team model.

According to tweets by College Crosse’s Chris Jastrzembski and Inside Lacrosse’s Kyle Devitte, the league’s front offices have been busy refilling the player pool and reportedly held a supplemental draft behind closed doors.

3. The U.S. women’s national team will play select squads from the UWLX and WPLL at the IWLCA President’s Cup next month in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. These games will be played in a 6-on-6 format currently under development by the FIL. There also will be a U.S. intra-squad scrimmage played with traditional rules. Team USA’s 25-player roster features six current collegians, including two players from James Madison, which hung tough with the U.S. at Team USA Fall Classic earlier this month.

4. Joey Sankey just finished the first quarter of his fight against cancer.

5. Zoe Belodeau (Penn), Hayley Hicklen (Florida), Haley Warden (James Madison) and Megan Whittle (Maryland) were named finalists for Best Women’s Performance of 2018 in US Lacrosse Magazine’s Best of Lacrosse series.
