Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

2. The Division I recruiting dead period was extended to July 31.

The Division I Council Coordination Committee voted to move the deadline of the dead period to the end of July, essentially barring live scouting through most of the summer.

“The extension maintains consistent recruiting rules for all sports and allows coaches to focus on the student-athletes who may be returning to campus,” said Council chair M. Grace Calhoun, athletics director at Pennsylvania. “The committee is committed to reviewing the dead period again in late June or early July.”

3. With COVID-19 shutting down lacrosse across the country, companies around the sport have had to improvise.

5. Tom Flatley, one of the most iconic coaches in Long Island high school athletics history, died Tuesday after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Flatley led the Garden City boys lacrosse program to 264 wins and seven undefeated seasons from 1985-2014. He also led the U.S. U19 program to a gold medal in 1982.

Flatley was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from US Lacrosse last summer.
