Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Stars align in Stony Brook.

The U.S. women’s national team concluded its three-day training camp by taking on some of the best players in the world not slated to play for the star-studded squad this summer at the World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship. The national team downed members from Athletes Unlimited, the only pro league for women’s lacrosse in the U.S., 15-8, at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium on the campus of Stony Brook University.

Charlotte North led the way for the U.S. with three goals and one assist. Marie McCool, Kayla Treanor and Kylie Ohlmiller each tallied two goals and one assist. Liz Hogan and Caylee Waters split time in net, making three saves apiece. Brian Logue has a full recap of the action from Stony Brook.

The scrimmage was a tune-up for this summer’s world championship, which begins June 29 at Towson University in Maryland. Fans can purchase tickets here.

2. RIT ends season atop USAL/Nike Division III rankings.

The Tigers broke a program record with 22 wins and became just the sixth Div. II team to claim back-to-back NCAA titles. National runner-up Union finished in the No. 2 slot, and York, Tufts and Salisbury rounded out the top five, respectively. Here’s the full list.

3. Middlebury No. 1 in final Division III rankings.

Middlebury didn’t have a season in 2021. In 2022, the Panthers won the national championship. They’re also No. 1 in the final USAL/Nike rankings. Tufts, which lost to Middlebury in the title game, finished second. TCNJ took the third spot, and Salisbury and Gettysburg concluded 2022 at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively. 4. USA Lacrosse names High School Players of the Week.

Joey Spallina (Mount Sinai) headlined the boys’ nods. The ‘Cuse-bound attacker and pick for Northeast Player of the Week became Long Island’s all-time leader in points in Mount Sinai’s win over Shoreham-Wading River in the Long Island Class C championship game.

5. Was it a push or a dive?

If a proposed rule passes, it won’t matter next year in men’s lacrosse. The refs will count the goal if a player scores while being illegally propelled into the crease by a defender.
